Youth and Family Ministry – Why We Do it, and How We do it

Youth and Family Ministry is an essential part of any church community. Walking alongside children, youth, and families together on their journey reflects an understanding that faith development doesn’t only happen inside the church, but it involves the whole church family. Youth and Family Ministry is based on three key pillars; leading young people and their families to a deeper connection with God, with one another, and with safe and supportive adults in the congregation. We support young people and their families by meeting their needs, and providing opportunities for discipleship, formation and loving relationships! This takes shape in many ways: fun Day Camps, Youth Group events, Children’s Focus Sundays, music programming, Bible study, neighbourhood outreach, cheering kids on at their performances and sports, and small group mentoring in coffee shops. We also provide parents and caregivers with resources to support a life of faith at home.

Monday – Friday: At Home and Outdoors! Ages: 4 - 12 years   Cost: Fully Subsidized

All Saints’ Discovery Camp is an action packed, fun-filled exploration of life’s big questions! Each week, through crafts, games, drama, music, science experiments and play, we discover exciting things about God, our planet and each other.

Last year our Discovery Camps were fully distanced and digital, with families enjoying our flexible “Camp Kits” from the safety of their homes. This year we have been given the green-light from the province to have in-person camp activities as part of our camp experience! Families will still receive take-home Camp Kits, and we will have an optional online Circle-Time every morning but every afternoon we will have fun outdoor activities in-person from 1:00pm till 4:00pm everyday. Outdoor activities to look forward to include banner-making, splash pad activities, giant art projects, field games, and even a life-sized “Where’s Waldo” hunt!

Finally, each Sunday after Camp is a “Show-and-Tell Sunday” – where campers are invited to show the grown ups at All Saints’ all the things they learned at Camp (and maybe have some celebratory treats too!). Its going to be a blast!
