Quilters
Every Thursday morning the All Saints' Quilters start the day off by attending All-Saints 10:00 A.M Eucharist. After the service we retire to the lower auditorium for lunch and some enlightened conversation (no gossip here) before proceeding to work on our quilts. We are kept busy by at all times having on the go two large quilts and one crib quilt.
Anyone interested in quilting is welcome to join us on Thursday for fun and fellowship. For more information please contact the church office @ 705-876-1501
All Saints' Embroiderers
On March 21st 1998 a number of interested people from both the Parish and the Peterborough Guild of Embroiderers met in the basement of the church to begin the task of embroidering a new series of cushions for the altar rail.
The idea originated with Father Michael, the design of the cushions was undertaken by Seanagh Murdock, and the project was overseen by parishioner Alice Latham. Together they made the decision that the work should represent the history of All-Saints as well as reflecting the reality of the Peterborough community that informs the church. In addition it was agreed that all designs should be original.
The blue background was chosen to match the carpet, and the creams and yellows to blend with the walls and ceilings. There are eleven cushions, with 41 shields, that stretch for a total of 53 feet. The cushions are to be dedicated in memory of the late Maudie Payne.
The Knitters Group
The Knitters' Group meets the last Thursday of the month from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Parish Hall, Wilson Lounge. Bring your own project and enjoy coffee, cookies and conversation with other knitters or get wool and instructions to knit a Prayer Shawl for someone in our Parish. We welcome new members, both from within and outside our Parish and we appreciate the contribution of Prayer Shawls knit by those who cannot attend meetings. No meetings in July, August, December or during Lent when we will be helping with the Easter Egg Project.
